VOKI

Voki is a unique way of presenting information to students.  It is like an Avatar.  Students can develop their own characters, type words into the word box, and listen to their Voki speak.  It is a really cool use of assistive technology!!!

  1. Denise, I think the "Voki" is a great resource for young students that may be shy or students with special needs that cannot talk but can spell and type. This is a cool program that educators could allow their students to use as a way to present information to the class or a friend (especially those shy students). It's a creative way to help implement UDL into the classroom with a different way of presenting information. I look forward to using it with a student that I believe would utilize it correctly.

  2. Denise,
I love the idea of VOKI. I would use it in the classroom for students who may have difficulty remembering the directions or what is expected of the task. To have that on an iPad next to the student may help those students who need constant reminders (as well as not annoying the teacher by repeatedly asking them what to do) of the task.

  3. I am thinking of some ways to use Voki in my own lessons. I would really like to see what you come up with.
