Educational applications used for math concepts, math skills and problem solving

In order for students to be successful in mathematics they must be fast, accurate, and carry out procedures in order to solve problems.  As mentioned in the previous blog, there is software available for individuals with visual disabilities that enables them to know facts and to access problems.  Because math manipulatives are used as instructional practice in order to build mathematical relationships, students with disabilities must be given opportunities thru technology to use them. There are applications available through Virtual Manipulatives Web sites that provide students with cool alternatives. Conceptua Math targets skills in math reasoning conceptual understanding and problem solving. There is a student in my Autistic class who is learning how to do basic math as well as counting money.  I see that this may be an alternative option for his instruction.
